Education and training

2005-2008 | Master of Information Science, University of Bergen
Thesis: Use theory from the field of Semantisk Web to improve the functionality in discussion forums in a learning context. A system for reusing resources from previous semesters discussion forums was developed and also evaluated. The goal was to improve the learning process for students. The tools used was Zope/FLE3, Java, Python, PHP, XML and MySQL.

Information Science investigates the relationship between technology, individuals, groups of individuals, organizations and the society as a whole. Courses taken during the degree included Systems Development, Programming, Databases, User-Interfaces, HCI, Artificial Intelligence, Sociology and Statistics. Project work in cooperation with other students was also a major focus.

Development of web based applications and user interfaces using Eclipse, J2EE, Hibernate, JSF, Oracle, XHTML, CSS and Javascript/Ajax.

Oct 2007-Dec 2008 | Specialist Consultant, Norwegian Social Science Data Services
Development of web based applications and user interfaces for norwegian universities and academies. Technologies used was MyEclipse, J2EE, Hibernate, Struts 2, SQL Server, XHTML, CSS and Javascript/Ajax.

Dec 2005-May 2007 | Project assistant, MediaNorway, UiB
Maintenance of the projects web site (medienorge.uib.no) and webserver, as well as further developing the site using ColdFusion MX. General work with statistical data was also a part of the job description.
