MODx Content Management Framework
This page contains resources, tutorials, snippets, modules and plugins related to MODx. For those of you new, MODx can best be described as a combination of both a Content Management System and a Content Management Framework. The good thing about MODx, when compared to other similar frameworks, is that it is extremly flexible and powerful from a developers point of view.
Where as most other CMS's often requires you to "hack" the framework itself to achieve your goals, MODx enforces almost no constraints on the developer/designer. The system is more meant to be a tool, a framework, that helps you to create a website excatly the way you want. This is especially true when it comes to creating templates that validates as XHTML. Read more about why you should validate.
The disadvantage of all this flexibility, is that it might be a bit overwhelming. If what you're looking for is "standard blog functionality", then MODx might not be the best choice for you. But if you have tried other frameworks and have been frustrated by all the constraints, then I heartily recommend you give MODx a try.
For more information, the MODx website is a very good starting point. Also, this review might be useful to help you decide if MODx is worth your time or not. If you need any help, or have any specific questions, just contact me and I'll try to answer as best as I can.
